Ukrainians have been urged to save electricity

18.05.2023

The power capacity and reserves in the energy system of Ukraine have significantly decreased. Therefore, Ukrainians have been urged to save electricity.

According to Ukrenergo, the decrease in capacity is due to the shutdown of power units for repairs, which have been heavily targeted by Russian missile and drone attacks during the autumn-spring.

The company has called on people to help maintain the stability of the energy system by reducing their consumption during the evening hours from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

“By turning off a few electrical appliances or using them during the day or at night, you help reduce the load on the energy system and facilitate its balancing,” added Ukrenergo.
